Donate Publicly Traded Securities

Donating appreciated publicly traded securities is a smart and impactful way to give, and thanks to Destiny Rescue’s partnership with The Signatry, your gift is processed at no cost. That means more of your generosity goes to impact.

Why Give Stock or Other Securities?

Relying on traditional cash giving after liquidating securities can create a higher capital gains tax liability that could reduce what you are able to donate.  By donating directly to a nonprofit before liquidation, greater tax savings may be realized and your giving can expand.

Tax Benefits

When you donate publicly traded securities, including stock, bonds, or mutual funds, to a nonprofit, you may receive an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock, and you can avoid the capital gains tax you would have paid if you had sold the stock first. The money that would have gone to pay capital gains tax can now go to the charity you want to support.

Further Kingdom Impact

Donating stock is a powerful tool for your generosity. You get to support the cause you love with the resources God has given you, and The Signatry processes the gift so the recipient nonprofit is not burdened by the liquidation process.

How It Works

1. Fill out the form below to notify The Signatry, a 501(c)3 nonprofit and partner of Destiny Rescue, of your intent to donate the securities. This form will ensure you are properly receipted for the gift of stock and that the proceeds go to Destiny Rescue.

2. Direct your broker to transfer the securities to:

Charles Schwab and Company
DTC 0164, Code 40
Account Name: The Signatry
Account Number: 9511-3100

3. Upon receipt of the securities, The Signatry will liquidate them and place the proceeds in a fund for Destiny Rescue.

4. Work with your tax advisor to determine the fair market value of the donated securities and whether the gift is deductible.
